ABOUT OCTOBERFEST

29 Years

Strong!

The 29th Annual Encinitas Oktoberfest & Artisan Faire, hosted by the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce, is a festive community event with a longstanding tradition of celebrating the German roots of our area. The festival showcases local artisans and Encinitas businesses, an authentic German beer garden with stage featuring Bavarian music and dance troupes, German refreshments, an international food court and a recently added local craft beer garden. Carnival attractions make the festival fun for the whole family. Located on Mountain Vista Drive (off El Camino Real between Wandering Road and Rambling Road), this premier festival spans almost a mile and attracts attendees from all over San Diego County.

ENCINITAS' OKTOBERFEST HISTORY

Encinitas’ German roots go back to one of our five communities, the northeastern colony of Olivenhain, founded in 1884 by German farmers. The Encinitas Oktoberfest coincides with the Deutschland start of Oktoberfest in mid-September. We first celebrated Oktoberfest in 1994 and the 2025 event will be the 29th annual. The Encinitas Heritage Oktoberfest gives everyone a chance to eat, drink, shop and be German for the day.
